Cleto Reyes Training Gloves

We are very confident in the ability of the Cleto Reyes gloves to protect. There are lots of sizes and colors to choose from and you can have confidence in the 100% leather material the gloves are made up of. They look great and, more importantly, they feel great and help you perform well.

Boxers will have personal requirements when it comes to gloves, with one fighter hating a certain design feature that another boxer loves. The main issue that we find with the Ceto Reyes gloves is the incredibly long break-in time.

Feedback from some fighters have said that this break-in line effects their performances and others have not mentioned it. It was very noticeably a problem for us, but you may think otherwise.

Protection And Padding

There is minimal padding used in Cleto Reyes training gloves but this does not effect the level of protection offered. Powerful punches will be absorbed by the gloves and their 2 inches of padding that is pretty thick. With such superior padding, fighters will have confidence that they are not at risk of injuring themselves.

We particularly like the clever thumb and finger features that enable fighters to have a lot of support in their wrists and hands so that they can reduce the chances of injury. You need not worry about water damage either, as these gloves are water resistant.

The padding is very dense and thin compared to any other 16oz gloves that we have worn and it is quote spread out, meaning that the glove looks quite wide.

Quality And Strength

These gloves are very durable and are made from materials that will last a lifetime. That said, one problem we came across was the length of time that they took to break in. Some other users have commented on this also, so the break-in time is a significant issues. We think it is worth persevering with these gloves though as they are superb in every other way.

Even the most powerful of boxers will attest to the superior quality of Cleto Reyes gloves. They are made from 100% leather and will last some boxers the length of their fighting career, they are that well made.

Cleto Reyes he gloves are available in many colors and can be purchased with designs ranging from traditional red to the colors of the Mexican flag, arriba!. They are super stylish and professional boxers love to look as flamboyant as possible in some of the trendiest designs.

You may want to tone down the colors that you choose when you first start out though, as they will draw attention and you really should learn the basics first.

There is no arguing that the design is exceptional but a pair of gloves is much more than how good they look. The gloves look quite traditional in design but have a cutting edge twist that will please boxers of all ages.

Some gloves with good padding can look too bulky, but the padding on these gloves is very thin and makes the gloves look as good as they feel.

Comfort and Fit

As with many top quality gloves these Cleto Reyes Training Gloves will take a while to break in and will possibly feel a bit stiff when you first wear the. We are sure that you will soon break them n as these are gloves that you will not want to take off, if ever boxing gloves were addictive then these will be the ones!

But don’t worry as these high-quality gloves could possibly last you a lifetime! The long lasting leather is designed to take some serious punishment and will withstand years and years of heavy bag and speed bag punching as well as sparring.

The cuffs are quite long. His is good for those with wrist problems as there is plenty of support. I have known one friend to not get on with the gloves because of this.

The gloves are very snug, and super comfortable. The design allows them to breathe incredibly well and they light as cotton wool on your hands. Without much padding on the wrist they feel a little “front heavy” but on a 10oz glove it’s not that noticeable. Rounder profile than the training glove, but the soft padding negates this so they still pack a punch.

Getting the perfectly sized gloves is often a challenge for fighters, as most brands only offer a few sizes Cleto Reyes, however, offer many different sizes, including 6 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz, and 18 oz sizes.

They all fit true to size so with a little bit of homework you will have a a pair of gloves that fit just as well as Cinderella’s slipper. The sizing options are one of the main reasons that these gloves are so popular as experienced fighters can almost customize their gloves.

When starting out, size may not be overly important to you but the more you fight and train the more you will see how perfect a certain glove can be.

What can we say, these gloves are nothing but awesome. In fact, we would go as far as saying that they are amongst the top three gloves available to buy. While the gloves are a little stiff at first, they will soon become so comfortable that you will not want to take them off.

The gloves are a big investment so we would only recommend buying them if you have experience in boxing and are likely to pursue your interest in it. The amount you will spend will be too much of you just want to give boxing a go with no real intention to fight longer.

What is more, if you turn up to training in a pair of these gloves and don’t quite know what to do with them then you will end yup feeling a little silly. Patience is required when boxing and you must run before you can walk. We think we have sold you a pair, if not you will be seriously thinking about saving up for a pair.
