Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform or Gi Premium Blank Review

This Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform is one of the most popular choices for those starting out in the sport. Just like the athlete themselves, this go is a blank canvas with no frills to boast of.

That does not mean that it does not have the potential though as it does the job in hand and can easily have decorations added for your own customized needs. Whilst the outfit is as basic as gis come, it is perfectly priced for beginners and we think that if it does the job in hand that we cannot complain too much.

The gi has no worried when it comes to comfort and durability, at least not for beginners who will not look for extra features until they start competing. The outfit features an excellent pearl weave collar, which is the key marketing point for this gi.

The design of this Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform is as plain as they come, with no sign of fancy features to be found anywhere on the outfit. There are no patches or embroider sections and the outfit is made of a solid white material. If you like your outfits fuss free then this is the perfect choice.

On the other hand, if you like to decorate your own go or are buying in bulk for a club, you can completely customize your go as you will be working from a blank canvas. We would say that this design is ideal for beginners who are just finding their feet and will find their own style as they progress.

This outfit is not an ultralight but does not appear as heavy as other non-ultralight gis. This is the perfect mix for those wanting to go lighter but without the extra cost. Some non-light his can appear heavy, but you will not get this feeling from this outfit. We do not the that this is the most comfortable gi that you will ever wear, but it may be for the price you pay.

One recurring complaint about this BJJ gi is that the size comes up pretty big, even for those who have measured up properly. Some people have said that the jacket comes up really big, so this should be a word of caution, especially if you are on the small side.

Our best advice is to maybe buy a size smaller if you think you are on the lower range of the required size or failing that ensure that you have time to return your costume and have it replaced with a smaller size if need be. The pants are also said to come up bigger but not as excessive as the jacket.

We have to say that the outfit that we picked out did have a little more room in it that some other brands we have bough, but not a significant amount to complain about.

Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that there are fewer sizes in this make than some other brands, so each size tries to cater for a larger amount of people.

5’0” – 5’4”110-135A-0
5’5” – 5’7”135-160A-1
5’8” – 6’0”160-185A-2
6’1”- 6’4”185-220A-3

There are fewer sizes to choose from than you may be used to, with 3-4 inch ranges rather than the usual 2-3 on other brands. The great thing about this gi is that it starts at 5 feet, which is a welcome change to some other brands who start at 5’2”. if you are shorter then this could be an ideal outfit for you, especially for the cost.

Where this gi lacks in design it makes up for in durability. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform is really quite impressive when it comes to quality and strength. The jacket is made from a single piece of material, and reinforcements can be found in all the areas of high stress.

Reviews of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform have said to have practiced hard in the gi for many months without ever having a problem. Also, there aren’t any patches to rip off.

brazilian jiu jitsu jacket

The jacket of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform is made from a pearl weaved material that is lighter than a double weave but stronger than a single weave, yet again placing the gi as pretty standard in regards to its strength-to-weight ratio. The collar is rubberized, and all the seams are reinforced.

One complaint about the jacket that goes back to the gi running large is the fact that the sleeves and skirt are both longer than most would prefer. Still, the jacket of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform is quality made and comfortable alike.

Like the jacket, the pants of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform are pretty standard for what you would expect from a quality gi. The material is strong, and the pants are reinforced in the standard areas of high stress. Also like the jacket, however, they tend to run larger than the sizing chart would suggest. Reviews of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Uniform have complained that the pants are too big in the waist and too long.

The pants come with a twill drawstring and have two belt loops. While this is fairly standard, more loops and/or a rope string helps to maintain a better fit.

Regular feedback from people who have bought this gi refers to the great value for money and the genuine surprise that an outfit like this can cost so little money. Great bang for your buck and a gi that will exceed your expectations.

This Light-weight Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu GI uniform is superb quality at a genuine price. You can tell that this go is made by trade specialists and will last students and professionals many years due to great durability. Perfect for beginners and no real complaints from us.
